DIRECTORS STATEMENT

Where the Dragons Sleep is a modern tale of fiction inspired by true events, people, mythologies, and situations experienced by my crew and I during our many years working together in the entertainment industry. It is also a personal commentary on the advancement of technology within entertainment as well as the consequences of over- regulation. Set in a dystopian Los Angeles of the near future, this film presents a unique look at the good, bad, and wild aspects of movie making in Los Angeles. Part cautionary tale, part allegory, and part autobiography, WTDS is perhaps my most ambitiously meta film to date. While thinking about making a movie about making a movie, I came to realize that the story I was really interested in telling dealt with facing the ultimate question in Hollywood: How far would you go for fame and fortune?
